The images pasted on the drawing are from
sketches while on location (Pine Ridge
Indian Reservation, SD.) They refer to "time"
as in Indian pictographs and "winter-count"
paintings from the past. The application of
expressive lines and smudges allude to
earthen materials inviting the viewer to be a
participant in the drawing process.
This series was part of a traveling exhibition
2004-2005 titled On the Rez: Images from
Pine Ridge.
